Tampa Bay Buccaneers second-year quarterback Jameis Winston hasn’t had the season that many expected from him so far. That said, Winston’s performances in the last three weeks have been trending up. Winston has thrown for 710 yards with and 8-to-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio. He has started to show the flashes of the kind of QB the team expected after last year’s blazing rookie campaign.
Sunday against the Chicago Bears, Winston showed off just a little more magic that he has in his bag of tricks. On 3rd-and-10 from his own 23, Winston scrambled all the way back to his own end zone to avoid the rush from the Bears before eventually firing a pass deep down the middle of the field for Mike Evans. Seriously, watch this Houdini act.
Two plays later, Winston found Freddie Martino for a 43-yard touchdown pass to put the Bucs up 24-10.
