The Carolina Panthers offense struggled to get going during the first half of their game in Oakland on Sunday against the Raiders. In what was a must-win game for the Panthers to try and keep themselves in the playoff race, the offense managed just seven first half points.

Quarterback Cam Newton in particular struggled, going just 3-13 for 18 yards and an interception in the first half. He did have a rushing touchdown and Jonathan Stewart was able to get going as well, but overall it was a rough first half. Things started to change for the Panthers in the second half after Derek Carr fumbled a snap at his own 30.

The Panthers were able to ground-and-pound their way to a touchdown on that drive and following a three-and-out from the Raiders on their next drive, got the ball back at their own 8. Stewart gained four yards on first down and then Newton threw a perfect pass to a streaking Ted Ginn Jr. who ran away from the Raiders defense for an 88-yard touchdown.

The Panthers failed their two point conversion attempt making the score 24-19.
