Football season is finally here, which means it’s time for the weekly Tiki and Tierney 6-Pack of Picks. Tiki Barber and Brandon Tierney will pick six games each week – three college, three pro – and offer their predictions. Both co-hosts finished over .500 last year, with Tierney going 55-46-1 and Barber going 51-44-7.
Looking ahead to Week 1, Tierney likes the Titans (-3) against the Raiders, is taking the over in Jets/Bills (40), and is taking the under in Seahawks/Packers (51). Looking at the college ranks, he likes Buffalo (+16) at Army, Eastern Michigan (+5.5) at Rutgers, and Navy (-12.5) against Tulane.
“Rutgers, I’m sorry. Rutgers is not good,” Tierney said. “I know Rutgers hung around a little bit at Washington (before losing 30-14). Cosmetic points. Rutgers stinks. They’re 0-1. There’s a chance, if you really believe in Eastern Michigan, you might want to take this on the money line. I think they could win.”
Barber, meanwhile, likes the Jaguars (+5) at Houston, the Saints (+3) at Minnesota, and is taking the over in Falcons/Bears (48.5).
“I think the Falcons score a lot of points in this game, and the Bears are going to be in hurry-up a lot, so they’re going to score some points as well,” Barber said. “Give me the over in this one.”
Barber also likes Oklahoma State (-28) at South Alabama, Florida Atlanta (+33) at Wisconsin, and is taking the over in Pitt at Penn State (64).
